After replacing the cam belt and finding out there was no compression I found the reason why. 8 of the 20 valves were stuck open. This would definitely be the reason why the engine wouldn't start with the new cam belt. Pistons were in good condition, slight mark were the valves had touched but nothing to worry about. Could have been a lot worse!
